Or it would be as part of an overhaul of colonization, and the mission trees of the colonizing powers (which are a little lacking in flavor now).īut aside from the Middle East, I draw attention to the damaging situation in India, which doesn't seem to be of much concern to the community. Yes, I don't think PDX is making the mistake of reworking South/Central America before the Middle East. I cannot wait for the release of this update and DLC.Byzantium is the Roman Empire. In regards to Sjælland/Copenhagen I would also love to know why it is not a center of trade? Copenhagen is litteraly the biggest tradecenter in Scandinavia, and the city's name is litteraly 'Merchant Harbor'.Īnyway, keep up the good work. The game has over 4000 provinces and making 3-4 more provinces will not hurt. (Very similar to how the Regions in Denmark work). Make the city of Copenhagen it's own small province like Lübeck and then the rest of Sjælland is it's own province. In Sweden you could split up Stockholm and Hälsingland, and in Denmark you could split the big island of Sjælland into 2 aswell. ![]() I know you have said you would never add more provinces to the game anymore, but this region really has some huge provinces that could need to be cut in half. I would also like to say that I wish Scandinavia got a few more provinces. You could also choose the Royal Life Guards, as they are a very iconic and proberly the best looking regiment in the Danish army. Using the blue facings from The Schleswig Infantry regiment (Slesvigske Infanteriregiment) would look much better, as they use the same royal blue as the lions on the Danish coat of arms. I think the Tier 4 choice for Denmark could be better, as the black facings which is taken from the 3rd Jyske Infantry regiment does not look that good in my opinion. Until then, let us know in this thread what you think of the units and icons! Next week Big Boss will bring you an update on the new Achievements and some moddability changes. So please spare an extra thought for our Ukrainian colleagues the next time you load up EU4. But not nearly as much as it must have been for them, forced to either displace across Europe as refugees, or remain in the uncertainty of their home cities.ĭespite these unimaginable challenges, the team continued with determination, and delivered some exceptional work for you. For those of us here in Spain, working with them almost every day, it was a shock. We had already started working with them on the unit pack when the news of the Russian invasion of Ukraine broke. The EU4 art team has been collaborating with our friends at the Ukrainian studio N-iX for several years now, and they have worked on almost everything beautiful in the game, from monument illustrations to event pictures to unit models. These training exercises eventually developed into the biathlon sport, today competed by countries from around the world in the Winter Olympics. The intense training performed by these troops consisted of cross-country skiing while firing muskets, and was designed to prepare them for rapid deployment in the harshest wintry environments of Scandinavia. The final tier unit is of course based on the elite ski regiments. Norwegian fashion throughout the middle eras was inspired heavily by that of the Dutch, and you see some of this influence in the uniforms, especially in terms of the coats and the cravat neckties. ![]() The red ribbon around the kettle helmet is a nod towards ‘Kongshirden 1260’, a Norwegian re-enactment group who use it as an identifying mark, as one of their members helped us with the research for some of the units in this pack. NorwayThe tier 1 wears a coat of plates sporting the Norwegian lion, as well as good arm and leg protection. Most of these unit packs are in fact tied to primary culture rather than tag, so you should see them popping up wherever else it makes sense, including retaining them when forming unions like Scandinavia. An example of a final concept that is passed to the 3D team.
